Hall of Shame

Defenders of Space

It's technically Korean, but it deserves a mention due to the fact that it's so bad that it's good. Stupid blue aliens attempt to take over the city of aurora for the third time (which is so poorly defended that you wonder how they managed to fail the first two times). They succeed and it is up to two teenagers to find the legendary Phoenix King. The phoenix king turns out to be the lamest super robot ever (he's actually a transformers ripoff). He then easily beats the substantially cooler enemy robots and uses his ultimate secret weapon, a pistol, to destroy the enemy spaceship. This show contains such classic moments as opening a window on a spaceship, while it's in space. Then proceeding to shoot down oncoming missiles through the open window. This movie is made even more absurd by the fact that there seems to be a grand total of two voice actors, one boy and one girl. This show was definitely worth the $1 I paid for it, if only so I could laugh at how terrible it is.

Macron 1

This anime seems to be made for the purpose of simulating ADD. It jumps from scene to scene seemingly randomly. It has unbelievable plot gaps. The video is grainy and blurry. Even a fairly good cast of voice actors couldn't save this show. As for the audio, it seemed like they were only able to have two channels of sound at once. That meant that out of voices, music, and sound effects there was only ever two of them at once. I think this may be the only show in which a giant robot battle takes place with silent explosions. I barely even remember the basic premise of the show. Some guy with enormous sunglasses sends a strange team of people in a giant robot to try and save the world from an invading army. If you watch this show you will never forget it, no matter how much you want to (partly because the theme song repeats the title endlessly). Daishogun (the Japanese version) might be a pretty good show, but Macron 1 definitely belongs here.

Bonus Question: Doesn't "Just For Kids Entertainment" (the company that made Macron 1) sound suspiciously similar to another company well known for messing up good anime shows?
